Happy New Year!

Firstly a happy new year! I hope you all have an incredible beginning to the New year. I would love to know what challenges you set yourself for the following year! Drop me a message on twitter or instagram with the hashtag #NBLJ and tag my user ( Twitter @Foxsleyadv Instagram @Foxsley ).

2020 has certainly been a challenging year, but I am certain 2021 will come to be even more challenging, just in other ways. This year is all about taking a mental health journey and pushing myself outside my comfort zone to get to a better place as well as finding myself. And so, this is where it leads to me starting 2021 with a bang.

Now I originally planned to do a polar plunge, jumping into the sea at sunrise. But due to lockdown in the UK, I thought it would be innappropriate for me to do this with the current affairs in the world. So I did the next best thing. I went over to tesco express, grabbed bags of ice and headed back to my flat where I filled up a bucket and prepared for the night ahead. I had a wonderful stream, and thank everyone who attended, chatted and lurked. As midnight neared, I poured the ice into the cold water and swapped over to my phone to stream. Nerves hit me hard, I was doing it. I had finally come to the point where all my planning comes to an end, ready for it to become a reality, and in front of people who mean the world to me.

As I stepped into the shower, it really hit me that I can do this. That everything I wanted was coming together. A start of something new, that I hope to take so much further and the feeling was just incredible. I knew as soon as I lifted the bucket that this year was going to be great. That I can do this, and I’m excited to show everyone along the way. Already I’ve had people comment and share their thoughts of the NBLJ and the messages were absolutely amazing. I thank each and every one of you.

Now it’s been some hours later, and it certainly was an experience. From going to hot, to cold, to hot, to cold all through the night. But that quickly settled out and now I am super proud of myself. I have taken the first step, I have started this journey officially and now I have the NBLJ bug. Planning and creating already, to share with you as I tick more goals off my list.

So I’d like to end the blog here with my first short film below. I really hope you enjoy it, and I can’t wait to look back in a years time as I go through my videos and remember all the good times I’ve made. If you’re doing your own little version of the NBLJ I’d love for you to share with me!

Happy new year to you all!

Seize the moment, seize the day, and never give up.
